The Secret of Secrets

The Secret of Secrets was my third motion graphics project, in which we had to create a TV Show intro based on a New York Times Best Seller. I chose Dan Brown’s “The Secrets of Secrets” as I have always enjoyed his books and the release of the novel was perfectly timed for this project. This project had to be made with live footage. As such, this would be my first exposure to using Adobe After Effects.

Beck’s Beer

Beck’s Beer was my first and second motion graphics project, in which we had to first animate the final few seconds of a commericial, and then create the full commercial. The company was chosen from a list given by Professor Cotton. I chose Beck’s and went into researching the brand. The thing that I used to push the design forward was the interest in the history of the brand and its original branding with the slogan “Set Sail”.

Vans Advertising Campaign

To wrap up my initial studies in motion graphics, I was tasked with designing a series of online advertisements for a company of my choice. This project had two main points of teaching. First, this project was an intro into motion graphics for social media platforms, with two of the four advertisements being designed as 15 second Instagram reels. Second, this was the first project where I had to Voice Over our commercials, adding another layer of editing sound into the mix as I created each piece. As the title would imply, I chose Vans. I’ve always been a big fan of both their product and how they often advertise products. As a result, I did my best to create a series of motion graphics that all felt like they carried a bit of teenager grunge in both the video clips and the effect work used throughout each video.
